It’s kind of hard to say when patio season starts in the South, due to spurts of warm weather here recently during the winter months, but I’m pretty sure it is safe to say, patio season is here! With that being said, I would like to highlight some of my favorite patios around Greenville to eat, drink and people watch.
The 05
The 05 is located off of Augusta Road and is at the top of my list. It is a very relaxing atmosphere and is an intimate space, great for having a small bite to eat and catching up with friends. The bartenders at The 05 are pretty cool too!
Southern Fellow’s Recommendation: The Black Basil Fizz (Gin, St. Germain, Simple Syrup, Blackberries, Basil lime juice)
WXYZ @ Aloft
WXYZ @ Aloft is located on the 4th floor of the Aloft Hotel in Downtown Greenville. The patio is very small, but offers great views of One City Plaza. You can also catch some local bands on Friday and Saturday nights.
Southern Fellow’s Recommendation: Truffle Frites and Dips (handcut fries served with chipotle ketchup and a bacon aioli) and the Gin Basil Smash (Hendrix gin, simple syrup, lime juice and basil leaves)
Universal Joint
Universal Joint has become quite a popular North Main spot for those living in the North Main neighborhood and those from other areas of Greenville looking to hang out with friends. Universal Joint is a nice chill spot with some great food and descent drinks.
Southern Fellow’s Recommendation: Brisket Tacos and a Botanist (The Botanist Gin, Bitters, ginger ale, cucumber)
Jianna is one of Greenville’s newest restaurants offering a lighter-fare on fresh Italian dishes with a patio that wraps around the corner of the building giving great views of the entrance to Falls Park and Main Street.
Southern Fellow Recommendation: Countess (gin, aperol, prosecco, lillet blanc) and Salted Caramel Semi-freddo (biscotti crumb, shaved chocolate, caramel sauce)
The Common Cure
The newest member to the Augusta Road community featuring a salad and burger focused menu. The Common Cure is sure to be a great addition to the neighborhood and what makes this patio even cooler is the ping pong table! I don’t play ping pong, but a drink and watching would be fun.
Southern Fellow Suggestion: The Betty White
Obviously, this isn’t a list of all of the patios in the area, but this is a list of some of my favorites. Some others to think about are The Lazy Goat, Passarelle Bistro, Nose Dive and Roost!
