Friday Five: Tacos N Tequila 2018

Last Sunday, I attended the 2nd annual Tacos ‘n Tequila Fiesta presented by Lunazul Tequila at the Old Cigar Warehouse. I thought it was a pretty cool way to wind down the celebrating of my 29th birthday. Today’s Friday Five consists of the top 5 things I enjoyed while attending this year’s fiesta.

Chicken Tikka Marsala taco from White Duck Taco Shop

White Duck Taco Shop debuted this deliciousness at this year’s fiesta and won Most Creative Taco at the festival! If you weren’t didn’t get a chance to attend the festival, swing on by and try one for yourself!

Cubanito from Tacos & Mas

Tacos & Mas is newbie to the fiesta and the Upstate’s restaurant scene. This was my first time trying some from Tacos & Mas and a must say, it definitely lived up to the great things I have heard about them.

The Compania from Up on the Roof

Up on the Roof definitely had one of the most interesting ingredients for their taco. The Compania featured red cooked lamb belly, eggplant kimchi, pico, cilantro and tequila mint crema. After so many pork tacos, it was good to see a place go outside of the box.

“AL PASTOR TACO” from Papi’s Tacos

Pork tacos are probably some of my favorite tacos, but they seemed to be the “trendy” taco at this year’s fiesta. So, out of all of the pork tacos at this year’s event, Papi’s was my favorite.

The Swan Dive from Rocket Surgery

This was actually not a taco, but one of the many tequila cocktails I had at Tacos ‘n Tequila. It had just the right amount of everything and wasn’t overly sweet. It also won Best Overall Lunazel Cocktail!

If you missed this event, you definitely missed a heck of a Sunday Funday. Keep a look out for next year’s event and follow Tacos ‘n Tequila Fiesta on all of social media.
