Stone Pizza Company

There are two things Greenville can’t seem to get enough of, tacos and pizza. Then again, who doesn’t love either of those?

Stone Pizza Company is the newest pizza place on the scene, specializing in Neapolitan pizza and New York Style on locally made sourdough. This makes the second restaurant in the Upstate offering the popular Neapolitan style.

Stone Pizza is located at the corner of Park Avenue and Stone Avenue in the old Park Avenue Pub building. The small building creates a very warm and cozy atmosphere and even has outdoor seating on the patio, which will be a hit in the warmer months.

The menu has a variety of Neapolitan pizzas with red and white sauces, and of course there is the Neapolitan classic Margherita. The Tutta Carne and the Proscuitto & Arugala pizzas were very enticing. There’s also the New York Style which can either be customized for you with a range of toppings or you can pick one of the specialty pies like Pork N’ Shrooms (salami, mushrooms, parmigiana, balsamic glaze, arugula) or Ow love Pepperoni (peperoni, olives, bright onions, basil).

There are also a variety of wine and craft beers.

My Experience

I visited Stone Pizza on a busy Saturday night with a friend. They didn’t have any small tables available, so we were seated at a larger table with another small party, which wasn’t an issue for us. We actually enjoyed making some new friends.

Our server was very knowledgable about the menu offerings and was able to offer some great suggestions. She prefers the white Neapolitan pizzas, but says the red pizzas and New York Styles are also very delicious. I had the Salciccia and Funghi, which is a white Neapolitan style pizza with garlic, mozzarella, Italian sausage, mushrooms and basil. My friend had the Tartufo, also a white Neapolitan style pizza with garlic, mozzarella, asiago, eg, arugula and white truffle oil. Both pizzas were wonderful. I think the Tartufo was the better of the two, but the Salciccia & Funghi wasn’t very far behind.

I cannot wait to go back, especially during the summer and check out the patio.

Stone Pizza Company is a must try!
