Mix It Up Monday: The Amber

Fall is here and with it is everything pumpkin-spiced, except for this cocktail post. We are taking everything “basic” and putting a little bit of a twist on it. Here is The Amber…an orange spiced mimosa!

Inspiration: I was on the hunt for some new cocktail ingredients a few weeks ago and ran across a spiced smoked orange simple syrup made from The Bang Candy Co. in Nashville, TN. While I’m sure you will see a few more cocktails featuring this simple syrup over the next few weeks, I thought I should play with the “basic” trend that seems to be so popular this time of year.


1/2 oz of The Bang Candy Co Spiced Smoked Orange Simple Syrup

2 dashes of Fee Brothers Cranberry bitters

Your choice of bubbles

Your choice of orange juice

Pour 1/2 oz of simple syrup in tho your champagne flute. Pour your bubbles over the top and fill the glass about 3/4 of the way and top with orange juice. Add 2 dashes of cranberry bitters and there you have it…the fall “basic” meets the brunch “basic”= The Amber.
